Celebrating Food Safety Day - EFAD supports FAO's activities; Food Standards Save Lives!

On June 7th, we celebrated Food Safety Day, a global initiative to raise awareness about the importance of safe food for everyone. EFAD proudly supported the FAO and WHO activities, spreading the vital message that food standards save lives.

As a trusted advocate for evidence-based nutrition practices, EFAD remains dedicated to promoting safe and nutritious food for all. Together, we strive to enhance food safety practices, raise awareness, and empower individuals to make informed choices about the food they consume.

At EFAD, we believe that safe and nutritious food is a basic human right. We remain committed to working closely with organizations like FAO and WHO to advocate for food safety, support policies and practices, and contribute to healthier and more sustainable food systems.

Updates on EFAD Projects

As part of the SONUTS project, an EFAD representative actively participated in the Advisory Board during the consortium meeting held in Prague in May 2023. Their valuable contributions added significant insights to the discussion surrounding the pilot study of the SONUTS application.

INPRO closing seminar (30/11) and field visit (01/12)

The INPRO consortium will share the outcomes of 3 years of collaboration and research during a 2-day INPRO event.
Together partners of 4 universities of applied sciences and 3 rehabilitation centres worked towards the goal of further enabling a smooth transfer from interprofessional education to the work field.

Kompass Nutrition & Dietetics - New issue is out

Examining Guidelines and New Evidence in Oncology Nutrition: a Position Paper on Gaps and Opportunities in Multimodal Approaches to Improve Patient Care

Malnutrition, muscle loss, and cachexia are prevalent in cancer and remain key challenges in oncology today. These conditions are frequently underrecognized and undertreated and have devastating consequences for patients. A multidisciplinary panel of experts in oncology, nutrition, exercise, and medicine participated in a 2-day virtual roundtable in October 2020 to discuss gaps and opportunities in oncology nutrition, alone and in combination with exercise, relative to current evidence and international societies’ recommendations. The panel recommended five principles to optimize clinical oncology practice.

Have your say on NCP and NCPT, or DCP and ICF-Dietetics!

Dietitians from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland are invited to take part in a research survey about the implementation and use of standardized terminologies and work processes among dietitians. This implies both NCP/NCPT and DCP/ICF-Dietetics. The survey is web-based and will require approximately 20 minutes of your time. All registered dietitians in the included countries can take part in this study. 
 
This research study is conducted by the International NCP and NCPT Implementation Survey (INIS) Consortium, coordinated by Dr Elin Lövestam, Uppsala University, Sweden.

Sixth Edition of Nordic Nutrition Recommendations (NNR) to be Published on June 20th

The sixth edition of the Nordic Nutrition Recommendations (NNR) will soon be unveiled at an international event in Iceland on June 20th. 

The NNR 2023 edition will provide evidence-based guidance on foods that promote not only personal health but also environmental well-being. By emphasizing sustainable dietary practices, it aims to contribute to a healthier future for individuals and the planet.

The launch event for the NNR and a research webinar will be accessible to a global audience through a digital platform.
