EFAD - EUFIC Meeting in Brussels

EFAD's Ex. Committee, Ex. Director and staff met, earlier this April, with the General Director and the team of EUFIC, in Brussels to discuss the potential of a synergic collaboration between the two organisations.

EFAD and EUFIC are pleased to announce they have entered into a fruitful collaboration. With an increasingly critical role in bridging science miscommunication and facilitating healthier and more sustainable lifestyles, both organisations recognize that they need to accelerate and enhance the promotion of evidence-based decision-making and the empowerment of shifting to healthier and sustainable diets.

WHO European region meeting in Barcelona - Representation by EFAD's Ex. Director

To discuss best practices and lessons learned in integrating brief interventions for different risk factors (tobacco, alcohol, nutrition, physical activity) and their links to NCD management a meeting was organized by WHO European region in Barcelona, on 24-26 April 2023. Wineke Remijnse, EFAD's executive director participated as an expert in this intercountry consultation.

Our recently published study European Dietitians as key agents of the green transition: An exploratory study of their knowledge, attitudes, practices, and Training shows that European dietitians are, regardless of their background, undeniably willing to contribute to combating climate change and acknowledge their role in building a more resilient planet.

The aim of this study was to explore the knowledge, attitudes, practices, and training (KAPT) of European dietitians, as part of the development of the EFAD Learning course Sustainability in Dietetics.

INPRO closing seminar (30/11) and field visit (01/12)

The INPRO consortium will share the outcomes of 3 years of collaboration and research during a 2-day INPRO event.
Together partners of 4 universities of applied sciences and 3 rehabilitation centres worked towards the goal of further enabling a smooth transfer from interprofessional education to the work field.

Commission updates marketing standards of agri-food products to better address consumer needs and sustainability

On 21 April 2022, the Commission proposed to revise the existing marketing standards applicable to a number of agri-food products, such as fruit and vegetables, fruit juices and jams, honey, poultry or eggs. The proposed revisions should help consumers make more informed choices for a healthier diet and contribute to preventing food waste.
