EFAD - FAO meeting on Better Nutrition
We recently had the privilege of engaging in a fruitful meeting with Lynnette Neufeld and Ana Islas Ramos from the Food and Nutrition Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Our discussion centred around vital topics such as food systems-based dietary guidelines, nutritional guidelines and standards for school meals, and exploring the potential role of the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) and its members in supporting their implementation. A significant highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Budapest Resolution. The Budapest Resolution emphasizes the fundamental right of every European citizen to access safe and appropriate nutrition. It underlines the crucial role of dietitians in advocating for and advancing this right. EFAD and FAO officers discussed the importance of championing this resolution and aligning efforts to ensure its realization. To learn more about EFAD's initiatives, the Budapest Resolution, and the impactful work of dietitians in Europe, visit efad.org. Together, let's continue to prioritize nutrition, advocate for healthier food systems, and create a brighter, healthier future for all Europeans!
