EFAD launches a new Learning Library

This new academic season, we are delighted to announce that the EFAD Learning Library, has officially launched. This has been a highly anticipated EFAD project, supported by unrestricted educational grants by Danone and Nestle, which we warmly thank.

Our main goal is to support the lifelong learning of all European dietitians and that is why our courses are dietitian-led and evidence-based, with materials to embed in practice and take your learning in new directions. The EFAD Learning Library will be an online resources educational platform that will host courses, podcasts, webinars, and many more to come.

We aim to support your learning with diverse yet relevant topics that apply to the daily professional challenges. EFAD believes that learning is an integral part of our professional development. As an EFAD Learning member, you will have free access to our flexible and self-directed courses developed for all career stages from students to experienced dietitians.

Each course has educational resources developed by our international experts that bring practical and real-world experience to each topic.

Three new online courses are now available and part of the EFAD Learning Library:

   Sustainability in Dietetics
   Health through Gut
   Digital Nutrition Communication

As there are limited seats available, make sure that you secure your registration as soon as possible. If you don’t make it this time, keep an eye on our next Newsflash and our social media, so you don't miss the announcement for when new registrants’ “seats” become available.

EFAD urges nutritional care to be the topic of focus at WHO Regional Committee Europe meeting

A call to embed nutritional care into the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases was the message EFAD made in its statement at the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee meeting for Europe. The statement was co-signed by 10 other European Organisations.

Nutrition interventions improve clinical and socioeconomic outcomes as well as health-related quality of life and therefore should be integrated in policies and interventions taken to address NCDs. Every European citizen must have access to nutritional care. Here is a video message from Annemieke van Ginkel-Res, Honorary President of the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) to explain more.

EFAD also joined other statements made at the 3-day meeting, on the importance of integrating Behavioural & Cultural Insights, the WHO Digital Health Action Plan, the European Alcohol Framework, and recommendations on Obesity.

In 2018 EFAD was accredited to the WHO Europe as a non-state actor. This allows us to improve further collaboration at a European level and work maybe work towards better health across Europe.
